Everyday at work, I get to listen to the radio, which happens to be tuned to Jack FM, here in Calgary. During that time I get to hear quite a variety of radio advertisements.
There is one particular set of adverts, that I hate the most. They are the ones for The Bay department stores. Bonnie Brooks who is the President of The Bay, has taken it upon herself, to be the narrator in all of them. No trained acting professional required, as Bonnie thinks she's perfect for the job. This would be okay if she didn't sound like a chainsmoking eighty year old.
When i first started to hear the adverts, I couldn't believe my ears. So much in fact, that I decided to check the internet, to see if I was correct in my assumption about Bonnie. Luckily, I came across a Macleans Magazine artilce on the web entitled 'Bonnie of The Bay', and I was very much suprised by the picture that accompained it. Low and behold she was absolutely nothing liked I had imagined at all.
I was no the only one, who had a bad opinion of her vocal talents, going by the amount of feedback that was posted below the article. Ninety percent of people also couldn't believe their ears and had also decided to "check her out".
Bonnie please do everybody a favour and "butt out" of the advertisement business and leave it to a proffessional. One who's voice doesn't sound like nails being drawn across a chalkboard.
Check out the article as see what other people have to say on the matter.

So when they thought no one was looking, the Ontario government did an about face on various components of their alternative power policy.
After years of touting the need the need to move away from traditional power sources, to the more environmentally friendly and possibly vote getting wind and solar power projects, they quietly did a u-turn on the matter.
Like most ideas from politicians, they didn't do the homework first. No need to do the research on the matter. Get the vote winning ideas out straight away, especially when getting re-elected was their priority.

Concert Seating
You have tickets for a concert and when you arrive you find that there are people already sitting in your seats. When confronted, they either claim total ignorance or mumble about not reading their tickets correctly. Do these people think that, the people who have bought the "good seat" tickets are either not going to show up or say "what the hell, you have these seat and we will take yours instead.
6 Foot Tall People at General Access Concerts
You got to a concert early and have managed to get a good standing spot at the front by the stage. You patiently wait there the hour or two for the concert to start. Then someone and their stupid friend arrive just before it starts and push their way past you to stand directly in front of you where they will spend the whole time of the performance talking to each other.
Why are they always at least 6 foot tall so you can't see the stage because they are in the way...
